It had been an exhausting week and I knew my usual weekend routine would not cut it. I needed more than just the four walls and screens.
As I lay in bed I had a brilliant idea. I took a shower and dressed in a pair of tights and t-shirt. In my backpack I packed a book, a purse, mobile phone and some snacks. Though I was not planning to use my phone, I would need to know what time of the day it was. Not forgetting my blue water bottle, I put on sneakers and left the house.
I rode the bus for about 40 minutes and alighted at the base of the nature trail. I paid the entrance fees and taking one step after another, I made my way into the woods. The forest was well tracked so I was certain of my safety. I was surrounded by such a beautiful view. It felt like being six again in my grandmother’s garden. I could hear birds chirping and butterflies were making the scenery more colorful.
After a long nice walk I got to a resting area. The grass was neatly mowed; you could tell the gardener was doing a great job. I sat down and after quenching my thirst got the book. I read a couple of pages as I enjoyed my snacks.
There were a few others who were enjoying the relaxed ambience. Many hours had passed and I was ready to leave.
The tranquility had recharged my being.
