This third class royal temple is located in Amnat Charoen Province which is in the Isan region. Inside, what first caught my attention was the giant statue of Phra Sangkachai. While in most temples you see Buddha, this statue intrigued me.

To Buddhists, he is said to be a symbol of wealth, prosperity and abundance. It is considered that if you pay homage to him, you will accumulate wisdom and virtue.
On the compound, there are so many statues to look at. We came across this huge crocodile that we walked inside through its mouth and out by the side of its belly. The view on the other side was jaw-dropping. The crocodile symbolizes strength and power that offers protection from all types of danger.

Wat Samran Niwet is located on an expansive land. Besides the ubosot, and a pond, there are many creative statues. Also, I found it to be a quiet place.
